Dr. Davis has served as Minister of Music in two state conventions (New Educational Convention and General Mississippi Baptist State Convention of Mississippi, Inc.) in the state of Mississippi over a thirty year period. He has held the position of board member of the National Baptist Convention, USA under Henry J. Lyons. He has been a part of that convention’s teaching staff in the youth department and served for nine years as coordinator and director of the same youth division.
Dr. Davis is the proud father of Misti D. McNichols, John W. Davis, III and Jarrett W. Davis. His father and mother are Dr. John W. and Mrs. Virgie L. Davis, Sr, of Gautier, Mississippi. His father pastors The Greater Antioch MBC in Pascagoula, MS.
